José Luís Moreira da Silva took part as a speaker at the Round Table of the Committees of the Association of Portuguese-Speaking Ports (APLOP) on 8 July in Luanda (Angola).
The partner at SRS Legal chaired the proceedings of the Port and Maritime Law Committee, which addressed the topics “Port Governance and Operations in Portuguese-speaking Countries: Common Challenges and Models for the Future”, “Obstructions to free navigation and their consequences for maritime transport contracts”, “The Jurisdiction of Maritime Courts and Courts of Auditors” and “Port State Control and provisions on the control/restriction of ship access to ports, for environmental, defence and security, and foreign policy reasons, etc.”
Under the theme “Portuguese-speaking Ports: from expertise to global competitiveness”, the event programme (which can be viewed in the PDF attached to this news item) spanned two days and featured several panels, which resulted in a number of recommendations.
