SRS Legal advises Finançor group on the acquisition of EMATER

Transaction strengthens Grupo Finançor’s presence in food distribution in the Azores, with advice from SRS Legal’s M&A team

SRS Legal advised Finançor group on the acquisition of EMATER – Empresa Abastecedora de Mercearias Terceirense, S.A., a long-established company in the food distribution sector in the Autonomous Region of the Azores.

SRS Legal’s advice on the M&A aspects was led by Alexandra Valente, Partner and Head of the Corporate & Finance Department, with the support of Associates Andreia Rodrigues Lopes, Gonçalo Mimoso and Miguel Dantas Guerreiro.

With almost 60 years of activity, EMATER has an established presence on the islands of Terceira, São Jorge and Pico, operating four supermarkets under the Guarita brand and cash & carry units, and employing around 300 people. The integration of EMATER will strengthen Grupo Finançor’s operations and infrastructure in the region and support the expansion of the Pingo Doce and Recheio brands to new islands in the Azores.
