Transaction in the defence and security technology sector highlights the firm's experience in strategic investments and dual-use technologies.
SRS Legal advised Indico Capital Partners and Lince Capital on Beyond Vision's funding round of over €28 million. Beyond Vision is a Portuguese company developing technological solutions with applications in the defence, security and industrial sectors.
The transaction also involved the participation of ActiveCap and aims to strengthen Beyond Vision's industrial capabilities, accelerate the development of artificial intelligence-based solutions and support the company's international expansion.
Founded in 2013, Beyond Vision develops unmanned aerial systems and autonomous technologies for civilian and military applications. Registered as a NATO supplier, the company operates in a sector of growing strategic importance, driven by investment in defence, security and the protection of critical infrastructure.
The legal advice was led by Paulo Bandeira and Solange Fernandes, Partner and Managing Associate, respectively, in SRS Legal's Startups practice.
"The investment in Beyond Vision reflects the growing importance of dual-use technologies and the role of venture capital in supporting the development of Portuguese companies with the potential to compete internationally. The convergence of technological innovation, industry and defence is creating new investment opportunities, but also legal and regulatory challenges that require a multidisciplinary approach and an in-depth understanding of these markets. This transaction demonstrates SRS Legal's experience in advising investors and high-growth technology companies, as well as the capabilities we have been developing in strategic sectors such as defence and security, which are becoming increasingly important to the Portuguese and European economies," says Paulo Bandeira.
