The practice of medicine is increasingly confronted with legal challenges that call for reflection, dialogue and a multidisciplinary approach.
It is against this backdrop that SRS Legal and the Portuguese Catholic University are organising the conference ‘White Coat, Black Robe: Legal and Clinical Dilemmas Shaping Contemporary Medical Practice’, which will take place on 25 September at the Portuguese Catholic University in Porto.
The event will bring together doctors, judges and lawyers to discuss some of the issues that currently shape the relationship between medicine and law: from informed consent to artificial intelligence in clinical practice, including the rise in litigation and the accountability of healthcare professionals, with particular attention paid to doctors practising in both the public and private sectors.
Attendance is free of charge, subject to compulsory and personal registration.
