This merger strengthens SRS' position of leadership in dispute resolution. Further to this merger the dispute resolution team at SRS, which has grown significantly over recent years, now also counts on the experience of a group of professionals lead by Dr José Soares Machado, who is a renowned specialist in this area.
Dr José Soares Machado brings with him ten professionals that will strengthen the dispute resolution, public law and employment teams at SRS. This merger represents the first significant merger between Portuguese law firms this year.
Pedro Rebelo de Sousa, managing partner at SRS, believes that the integration of the Soares Machado team in the SRS universe will bring significant added value to the SRS team of professionals, which has progressively been strengthening its leadership in various practice areas.
Founded in 1991, Soares Machado & Associados is one of the oldest and most prestigious law firms in Portugal. Lecturer and author of many works, José Carlos Soares Machado was a member of the Superior Council and President of the Lisbon District Council, at the Portuguese Bar Association. Presently he is a member of the National Supervisory Board of Insolvency Administrators, in representation of the Ministry of Justice.
Given this merger, and after having recently expanded its network in Portuguese speaking countries through various partnerships, SRS has confirmed itself once again as one of the largest and more dynamic Portuguese law firms, and has further strengthened its commitment to excellence in all areas.
