SRS Advogados mantains position in Top 5 of Legal 500

The 2015 edition of the Legal 500 directory recognises 27 SRS lawyers, and a further four are highlighted as Leading Individuals, in the 15 areas analysed. SRS Advogados has moved up to Tier 1 in Banking and Finance and to Tier 2 in Insolvency and Restructuring, maintaining its Tier 1 rankings in Employment, EU & Competition, TMT and Transport. For the first time, SRS has been recognised as a Foreign Firm in Angola.

SRS Advogados was once again nominated in all the practice areas analysed in the Legal 500. The firm's improved rankings in Banking and Finance (now Tier 1) and Insolvency and Restructuring (now Tier 2) are particularly notable.

The prestigious international directory highlights the excellence of SRS Advogados' Financial Department's advice to Banco do Brasil and Galp Energia. "SRS Advogados provides 'focused advice' and handles cross-border loan and credit facilities, inter-bank lending and regulatory matters. It represented Banco do Brasil in negotiating and executing a €115m credit facility with Galp Energia. William Smithson has 'strong client-facing skills' and Pedro Rebelo de Sousa is valued for his 'superb connections'."

Gonçalo Anastácio (EU and competition), César Sá Esteves (Employment), Octávio Castelo Paulo (TMT) and Maria José Santana (Transport) were recognised as Leading Individuals.

SRS was also recognised, for the first time, as a Foreign Firm in Angola, highlighting the work of partners Nuno Miguel Prata and Octávio Castelo Paulo. Nuno Miguel Prata recently advised Famosa Group on the acquisition of an Angolan company. Octávio Castelo Paulo heads the six-strong team, which is based in Lisbon," the directory states
