Newsletter - Banking and Finance | New Banking Moratorium: Temporary Financial Stabilisation Regime

The Banking and Finance Department of SRS Legal has published a Newsletter on Decree-Law No. 31-B/2026, which establishes an exceptional and temporary moratorium following storm Kristin and the subsequent hydrological phenomena.

This regime aims to mitigate the liquidity crisis that has affected families, businesses and social economy entities, allowing the suspension or extension of financial obligations, without contractual penalties, for a period of 90 days with retroactive effect from 28 January 2026.
