César Sá Esteves and Octávio Castelo Paulo are SRS's new Managing Partners Legal

SRS Legal has announced a change in its leadership, with César Sá Esteves and Octávio Castelo Paulo being elected as the firm's new Managing Partners and replacing Pedro Rebelo de Sousa, SRS Legal's historic leader.
"This milestone in the history of SRS Legal is not just a change in leadership; it is
 a clear affirmation of its institutionalisation and its commitment to continuous innovation and growth," says the law firm. O made a complete image transformation in 2022, based on the values of Agility, Empathy, Innovation and Sustainability.

"This renewal demonstrates the firm's institutional commitment, which will remain focussed on will remain focussed on preserving SRS Legal's leading position in the legal profession in Portugal. legal practice in Portugal, built up in an innovative way over the last three decades under over the last three decades under the leadership of Pedro Rebelo de Sousa, who now assumes the position of Senior Partner," reads the statement.

César Sá Esteves had been heading up the Labour & Social Security Department and Octávio Castelo Paulo the Corporate & Finance and TMT Department at SRS, both of whom have extensive experience and an outstanding reputation in their respective areas.

At the General Meeting that elected the new Managing Partners, a new Board of Directors was also elected. Board of Directors was also elected, chaired by Pedro Rebelo de Sousa and made up of César Sá Esteves, Octávio Castelo Paulo, José Luís Moreira da Silva, Alexandra Valente, Gonçalo Anastácio, Alexandre Roque and Maria José de Tavares.

For Pedro Rebelo de Sousa, quoted in the note, "this is the end of a meticulously planned and thoughtfully executed process to ensure a serene and effective transition". The historic lawyer says that "it was first considered in 2018/19, then suspended with the pandemic and finally resumed in 2021, to prepare for the renewal of SRS Legal and ensure its future as a reference institution in the national legal profession". "This process was accompanied by a comprehensive
programme aimed at strengthening the management skills of SRS Legal's partners and equipping the firm with new leadership profiles, capable of ensuring the renewal of practices and the sustainability of the firm in the medium and long term," he adds, talking about a process that took place "in perfect harmony, with a unanimous vote at the General Meeting". "César and Octávio are respected professionals and excellent people.
"César and Octávio are respected professionals and excellent people; having been with SRS Legal since the beginning, they represent its present and future and - I'm sure - will do justice to the successful history of this project, which has been running for more than 30 years," he concludes.
