Decree-Law No. 58/2026, of February 20, creates the Agency for Geology and Energy, I.P. (AGE, I.P.), approves its organizational structure, and establishes the rules for its implementation, carrying out a significant reorganization of the public energy and geology sector, extinguishing several entities and reformulating others. It comes in a context of energy transition and the need for simplification, digitization, and automation of licensing and inspection procedures.
